The 4-Way Test is a cornerstone of Rotary International’s ethical framework. It consists of four questions that Rotarians use to guide their personal and professional conduct. The 4-Way Test is as follows:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
These questions are intended to help Rotarians make decisions that uphold the principles of honesty, fairness, goodwill, and mutual benefit.
